A group of our Kidstarters recently celebrated a big WIN - and we think you should know about it.
Kari, Clayton, and Eva are high school students at Jesuit High School. Having traveled with Ncompass this summer to the Maranatha House, they felt compelled to stay connected and to help. Hearing from Melchi Chery, the Maranatha House's director, that a big need was for propane refrigeration, they knew they could step in to do something.
The three Kidstarters set a goal to provide enough funds for two propane refrigerators, and enough propane to get them through the first year.
With the support from Dave, their Kidstarter coach, the team set up a plan and strategy to meet their goal. Not only did they meet it - they EXCEEDED IT! By nearly $500!
I just got the opportunity to share with Melchi that these refrigerators will become a reality. His response was priceless!
WOW! WOW! This is incredible. Now we can go to the market and buy in bulk - which will save us time and money. And we can keep vegetables and meats throughout the week! The cooks and kids will be so happy when I tell them. WOW!
We're so excited for Melchi and the children at the Maranatha House. This not only affords them access to foods that would ordinarily perish, but this increases their access to quality, nutrient dense food, and supports the growth of the whole person.
This isn't just a big win for the benefactors of this project. This is a BIG WIN for the Kidstarters who made it possible. The skills and confidence they gained are irreplaceable. They have joined the movement to pay it forward.
Now accepting applications for new Kidstarters!
