What does my sponsored child receive through my sponsorship?
Children who live at the Maranatha House receive housing, meals, hygiene and medical supplies. The sponsorships help provide adequate wages for their caregivers and cooks.
What does the Educational Fund support?
The educational sponsorship goes directly to support the educational needs of the children who live at the Maranatha House and those in the Titanyen village. They attend Mission of Hope School, where they receive a top-notch, Christ-centered education and a nutritious meal for lunch during the school day.
What does the General Fund support?
The general funds are used toward capital improvement and maintenance projects, children who are not fully sponsored, and medical and travel expenses.
Am I my child's only sponsor?
Some children may have more than one sponsor. A child might have more than one sponsor to meet the
financial needs required for education and for room and board. Prices in Haiti can quickly change because
of the unstable economy, and an additional sponsorship provides the cushion to keep the child fed, healthy,
and educated without having to put them at risk for losing one or more of these opportunities.
How do I correspond with the child I sponsor?
You can send your child an letter through our website. Click here to send a message today!
Or you may write to your sponsored child and send letters to:
“Childs Name “
PO Box 1429
Beaverton, OR 97075.
Because the public mail system in Haiti is not dependable, letters will be delivered as teams go down. It is estimated that they will be sent quarterly.
Is there anything I should or shouldn’t say in my letters?
Please share about your life in your letters. This will help build a relationship with the child. You can also send pictures of your family and friends. However, please be culturally sensitive: don’t ask about political issues. Lastly, because of the extreme poverty that these children live in, we ask that you don’t tell of vacations or recent purchases.
Will I receive letters from my sponsored child?
As our core values state, we believe in building strong, meaningful relationships between you and your sponsored child. We will make an effort on each trip to have children write letters back to their sponsors, however, at this time we cannot guarantee the frequency of correspondence with your child.
Can I send gifts?
You may send a gift to your sponsor child. We ask that the gift could be one that is easily shared. In the case that not every child receives a gift from their sponsor, we want to make sure all the children still can participate.
Can I visit the child I sponsor?
